Pumpkin, peanut butter and liver biscuits

My first batch of pumpkin, peanut butter and liver biscuits!

Ingredients

  • 1 can of canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 tub of peanut butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups of wholemeal flour
  • Handful of chopped, cooked liver

Get your hands dirty!

To make the biscuits just mix everything together in a big bowl. I just got stuck in and used my hands. If it’s too sticky and falls apart then slowly added more flour until it holds together.

Once you have a dough that you can flatten out, use cookie cutters to make your biscuit shapes.

Put into a preheated oven (gas mark 4) for approx 40 mins.

Let the biscuits cool for 30 minutes before trying on your dog!

Not only do dogs love these biscuits but they are also good for them!

Pumpkin – great source of fibre so good for constipation and diarrhea.

Eggs – source of protein which helps to strengthen muscles and keeps coats nice and shiny.

Peanut butter – while there are lots of nuts that are toxic to dogs peanuts aren’t because they are actually from the bean family!  Some dogs can suffer from allergies though so please be aware of this. Like eggs, peanut butter is a good source of protein and contains healthy fats and vitamins.

Liver – nutrient rich organ packed with protein, vitamin A, vitamin B and omega-3 & 6 fatty acids.

Wholemeal flour – more lovely fibre and protien for a well blanced diet.

      Hi Marianne, thanks for the comment. Yes these would work well with any other type of meat or no meat. You could even try out different types of veg, I know Mossy loves sweet potato so I might try and make a treat with that next time :).
