As a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Councillors (APBC), it demonstrates that Josee has achieved the relevant academic qualification and can now take on veterinary referred behaviour cases with support from a full APBC member. The cost for behavioural consultations can be covered by some pet insurers.

Behavioural cases differ from training sessions as the issues usually have an emotional component which is limiting the dog’s ability to learn and behave appropriately in certain situations. In contrast, training issues involve teaching the dog new behaviours to give the owner tools that they can use to show the dog how you would like them to behave instead.

What is involved?

The behaviour consultation involves an initial 2 hour consultation either by zoom or in person. This will allow plenty time to talk over what has been happening and for Josee to do a thorough history taking. From this Josee will explain the causes for your dog’s behaviour and coach you through the Behaviour Modification Plan (BMP). The BMP will be written up after the session and sent to you with any other useful training videos and hand outs. Follow up is a very important part of any behaviour case so the package also includes a 60 minute session to check on progress and 6 months of extra support via emails.

Included price:

  • 2hr starter assessment

  • 1hr follow up (within 6 months).

  • Liaison with Vet if required

  • History taking

  • In person coaching & training plan

  • Full Behaviour Modification Plan with supporting notes, hand outs & tutorial videos

  • 6 months of follow up support via emails
